Solutions to Resolve Bluetooth Issues After Updating to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14

The iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 are the latest updates to hit the market. Therefore, you can’t exactly expect everything to be error-free or bug-free. Despite the slew of cool features that Apple added, you may have encountered some issues that affect your device’s functionality. Some of the most common Bluetooth-related problems that users have experienced include a crackling sound, stuttering or skipping music on AirPods or Bluetooth speakers, and the inability to detect or connect to a Bluetooth accessory.

How to Fix Common Bluetooth Issues On iOS 14 and iPadOS 14

Install the Latest iOS or iPad OS Update

Apple has already started to address the underlying errors and bugs after the initial release through subsequent updates. Before you begin addressing a Bluetooth-related problem, you should make sure that you’ve already installed the latest versions of iOS or iPadOS.

Turn Off Bluetooth And Reset Your Device

Your device’s Bluetooth should be turned off from the Control Center. You can also choose to go to Settings ˃ Bluetooth and make sure that you toggle it off before hard resetting your device to fix Bluetooth problems. However, if you’re using an iPhone model that comes with Touch ID, simply press and hold the Home button, Volume Down button, and the Power button.

You have to wait until the Apple logo appears on the screen. As soon as the device turns back on, you can see if it fixes the issue by enabling Bluetooth from the Control Center or the Settings.

Try Forgetting the Device and Pair It Again

If the first method failed to fix your Bluetooth problems, another thing you can do is forget the Bluetooth accessory and pair it again. To do this, simply launch Settings before heading over to Bluetooth.

Once you see the “i” icon on the right side of your Bluetooth device, tap on it. Next, tap on Forget This Device and confirm. Pair the Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad again.
