Must-Have Tips to Master Apple’s AirPods Max

The release of AirPods Max in mid-December was nothing short of a surprise to Apple fans. These first-ever over-ear headphones may be a little pricey, but their features will not disappoint. Aside from its 20-hour battery life, it also has an impressive surround-sound mode that’s called Spatial Audio, a transparency mode, and active voice cancellation. If you’ve recently bought one of these wireless headphones, you should take a look at some of the best tips to help you master your new toy.

How to Master Apple’s New Wireless Headphones

Learn How to Control the Digital Crown

Your AirPods may not have any touch controls; therefore, they rely on a stand-alone noise control button and a digital crown that serve several purposes. You can find both buttons on the top portion of the right ear cup. Although you may choose to use the digital crown to answer or end a phone call, other controls would be the following:

  • Single-press the crown if you intend to answer or end a call.
  • Double-press if you want to reject a phone call.
  • Single-press during a call, if you want to answer an incoming call while putting the first caller on hold.
  • Double-press if you have two active calls and you want to hang up your current call to switch to another call.
  • Press and hold if you intend to reject the second incoming call.
  • Double-press if you want to send the call to your phone and stop listening to your headphones.
  • Turn the crown if you need to control the volume level.
  • Single-press if you want to pause or play.
  • Double-press if you wish to skip forward.
  • Triple-press if you intend to go back.
  • Press and hold to ask for Siri’s help.

Don’t Forget that Siri’s Always There for You

Did you enable “Hey, Siri” on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac? Your AirPods Max will do the same thing whenever you’re wearing them. If you want to send messages, place calls, or change albums, all you have to do is to say “Hey, Siri” before you ask her a question or give her a command.
