A Closer Look at Some of the iOS Hidden Features for iPhone and iPad

You Can Set Your Default Web Browser or Email!

With the latest version of iOS 14, you can have more control over your web browsers and email apps. This means that assigning Chrome as your browser of choice or Outlook as your go-to email app won’t be a problem. If you want this new default assignment option to appear, you’ll have to update your apps for iOS 14 and follow these steps:

  • Go to your device’s Settings app to find the list of your installed apps.
  • Tap on the browser or mail that you prefer.
  • You should see either Default Browser App or Default Email App if it’s been updated for iOS 14. Tap it before selecting your app of choice.

You Can Take Better Photos on Your iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max!

Did you know that a new ProRaw picture format was added in iOS 14.3 to the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max? As of the moment, this new raw photo format is only available to these models. If you want to edit and enhance the look of your photos in your Photos app, here’s how to do it:

  • Open Settings > Camera > Formats before sliding the switch that’s found right next to Apple ProRAW to the ‘On’ position.
  • Near the top of your screen, you should see a toggle that’s labeled “RAW” in your Camera app. You’ll be able to capture a normal jpg file if you see a line through it. Alternatively, you’ll be capturing photos in ProRaw format if you don’t see a line.
