6 Keyboard Shortcuts That Mac Users Find Useful

Esc

Did you just select the wrong part of the screen while taking a screenshot? Is the process of loading a web page sucking all the juice from your system? When you need to cancel the previous command, all you have to do is to tap Esc. Its purpose is to get yourself out of trouble in a snap.  

Command-Tab

If you want to navigate to a specific app, just open the application switcher. Select Command with the Tab key.

Command-Space

Knowing this combination can be life-changing. If you have a specific question, you can ask the Spotlight. Spotlight is invoked by pressing Command-Space. Then you just type your question and keep moving forward.  

Command and Option

This combination comes in handy when you can’t see your desktop because of all applications you have opened. Just hold Command and Option while you click anywhere on your desktop. If you want to get to the open windows for a particular app, just hold down the same keys while clicking on any available window for the app.

Command – Comma (,)

Not many people know about this keyboard command. Instead of navigating to the Menu bar and scrolling through to access the app’s Preferences, you can simply press Command–, (comma) to get to Preferences in a flash.

Option + Command + Esc

These are the keys that you need to press whenever an application hangs or freezes. Doing so will automatically Force Quit the app and restart the application to get your system moving again.
